Hello, I have today, 3rd February 2026, begun to publish my website looking at the origins and dispersion of the Sykes name, up to the seventeenth century. It is hosted by the Guild of |One Name Studies but is very much a work in progress.
Some published pages are still in draft form and will change over time. Many other pages are planned and will be published as I get them to a useable state. I am a very reluctant IT user, so apologies for any and all mistakes as I plough my way through the labyrinth.
I welcome any comments, questions or suggestions on any aspect of the Sykes name, but please note my research effectively ends with the 1672 Hearth Tax.
